Alice Cooper

The year is 1992. "Alice" turns around to his mate Steve and says "hey dude I want to start a band that plays all the stuff we like. None of this grunge crap ... I'm talkin' cock rock with make up, loud guitars and loads of spandex. We'll call it Metal Storm". Steve replies..."but you can't play guitar!'' hmmmm.

Fearlessly he forged forward and switched to bass guitar, he figured that bass stood for basic...and together they found a singer named "Ozzy" and started a band. Our heroes plugged away for years as Metal Storm until by a stroke of sheer misguided genius they changed their name and went original as Torrent.

After years of touring with Australia's biggest bands like the Choirboys , the Angels, the Radiators they got noticed but were deemed too "80's", causing Steve to leave the band. After a desperate search they hooked up with a young guitarist named Kris and in disillusionment they thought "hey lets do a Van Halen cover show" .......and they did - playing to packed venues all around Sydney they were called Van Hagar.

At this time our heroes also did their own projects as well. "Alice" played in various original bands and even played a few gigs with Sydney cover band, The Party Pigs, but alas "Alice's" dreams of Metal Storm were still in his head leading to a conversation with "Ozzy" where they decided to resurrect the theme and decided they should call it Hair Guitar!!!!

Anyway, with 11 years of history and many years of training, he still can't play guitar but thank god he can fake bass (and orgasms) and has figured out how to sound like some of his idols singing (of sorts)..
